Paramount Skydance Set to Cut Around 2,000 American Positions – News
Skydance Paramount is scheduled to start significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 positions in the United States under a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.
These job cuts are a result of the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August valued at $8.4bn.
Further overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, as the firm planning to disclose complete information via its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.
Previous updates suggested the firm was looking to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by the beginning of next month.
As of December 2024, the company employed nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 contract workers.
Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond on the matter.
